Papa's Parrot

Sweet smells of candy coming from every corner of the shop. Entering the store with your friends, seeing your father behind the counter puts a smile on your face. Yet now, you rarely go there anymore because you became older and have better things to do with your friends, which teaches readers a lesson not to ignore what means most to you. This is what happens in Papa’s Parrot, by Cynthia Rylant.
