Papa's Parrot

Sweet smells of candy coming from every corner of the shop. Entering the store with your friends, seeing your father behind the counter puts a smile on your face. Yet now, you rarely go there anymore because you became older and have better things to do with your friends, which teaches readers a lesson not to ignore what means most to you. This is what happens in Papa’s Parrot, by Cynthia Rylant.
On December 20th a man and a woman were standing by the only fire place at the freezing train station waiting for their train to come by and take them to a play on Broadway. Then they heard a horn noise and looked at the bright lights coming near them. Their train has arrived. Finally they are able to go to the play.
